We know from decades of experience that inclusive structures and distributed decision-making are essential to activating bold justice strategies.
Our mission is to help organizations operationalize their values and strategies through structure and decision-making.
In justice organizations, our expectations of work structures and processes are fundamentally different than in mainstream nonprofits. We created JustOrg Design specifically for leaders actively rethinking traditional ways of holding power and working to distribute decision-making in concert with their values of inclusion and justice.
JustOrg Design helps organizations to get out of structural limbo: unwilling to sustain structures that have lost relevance but unsure of where to go next.
We take as inspiration what the the renowned abolitionist and scholar Ruth Wilson Gilmore recently said:
“If consciousness is the means through which we imagine ourselves into the future then organizations are the form.”

Our Team
Jeanne Bell
is co-founder of JustOrg Design. She has consulted on nonprofit strategy and organizational change for over 20 years. Jeanne also curates Nonprofit Quarterly's Leading Edge Program, recruiting and presenting nonprofit practitioners advancing more equitable nonprofit leadership practices. Previously, Jeanne led CompassPoint Nonprofit Services, one of the country's premier leadership and capacity-building organizations. While serving as CEO, Jeanne also chaired the board of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management, a national association of nonprofit capacity builders and academics. She currently serves on the boards of Community Works and Borealis Philanthropy. She has a Masters in Nonprofit Management from the University of San Francisco. Jeanne loves living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.

Dan Tucker
is a Product Leader who has spent over 20 years spearheading product strategy and leading high-performing teams to design, build, and market innovative SaaS products. As co-founder of JustOrg Design, Dan draws on his vast experience driving product strategy at Fortune 100 companies and Silicon Valley startups in fintech, adtech, and web search.
Most recently, Dan served as Senior Director of Product at FIS Global's Impact Labs Division, where he was instrumental in heading product innovation strategies. Prior to FIS, Dan was Head of Product for Mobility at Trov, bringing new mobility insurance solutions to market, before its acquisition by Travelers Insurance. At Hearsay Social, Dan led product teams responsible for providing regulatory compliance and ad solutions to nearly 200 top financial services firms globally (with over a million business users).
Dan's record of product leadership also includes pivotal roles driving product strategy and development at Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE: ICE), IAC Search (Ask Jeeves), Yahoo, Inktomi, and First Consulting Group (acquired by CSC).
